Cremeries de Paris opened 1870, 1880 and 1928.

Initially the Pavillons des Halles were supposed to look
quite differently. A first pavillon built in stone was inaugurated in early 1853. After visiting the Great Exhibition In London
and seen the Crystal Palace Napoleon III did not like the building. Having become Emperor in 1952
he uses his power to create a completely new project.

using glass and steel.

The first pavillion was demolished in 1866.
