Vans History & Timeline :
1966: March 16, Vans is founded by the brothers
Paul and James van Doren and 3 other partners.
The company starts as a store at 704E Broadway in Anaheim, California.
1970s: The company becomes popular among
souther Californian skateboarders.
1975: The Era skatboard shoe is designed by Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta.
1979: Vans opearates 70 stores in California.
1988: Vans is sold to an investment banking firm.
Worldwide presence is increased.
1994: Start of overseas production.
2001: Vans funds the production of Dogtown and Z-Boys,
Stacy Peralta’s look at the beginnings of skateboarding.
2004: Company was sold to VF Corp.
