VB.com ... is a Brand Culture info site
Videos on Pop Up Store expos at Cremerie de Paris.
Every brand listed on VB.com has a fascinating history.
They all have something in common ...
typically one or two people with an idea, very little money and a lot of passion.
History is something captivating.
Our Hotel de Villeroy has lived much of it ...
It has been in existence since circa 1370 ...
Two centuries later, 1567, a descendant of the family and child of the mansion, Nicolas IV de Villeroy
became Secretary of State under four Kings of France, Francois II, Charles IX, Henri III and Henri IV.
1646, his grandson Nicolas V de Villeroy
became the main tutor of Louis XIV.
The young King spent part of his childhood playing in our courtyard with Francois and Catherine de Villeroy.
Even today he has left a lasting impact on fashion & style.
1870 - 1970, epoch of the nearby Les Halles Centrales food market. According to the memories of
Coco Chanel and her friend Aimee de Heeren
the most creative French people of that time
all came by when our place was a fine cheese shop (Cremerie).
Bypassing the barriers of time, the two Ladies gave us access to information nobody would know today.
The "5" symbol on the staircase of the courtyard had a mysterious attraction on Chanel who walked there at night.
1987/1993, the Cremerie turns into a phone + audio/video shop
linked to one of the most famous brands of the end of the century,
Sony Corporation from Japan.
Akio Morita's products attracted photographers, Video people and fashion icons like Lady Diana to our place.
1995, at the dawn of the Internet era
the Cremerie became
one of the very first Cybercafes.
Already connected Americans visiting Paris
and desperately looking for internet access to use something very few in France knew about: "email" or "websearch".
We encountered many tech pioneers
most of the time not even realizing who they were
... or who they were going to become.
Some were already older,
one had walked on the Moon,
another one, had once been a friend of the inventor of the phone.
With the inspiration of these fascinating Cybercafe visitors
we acquired thousands of iconic Internet Domains among them:
Phonebook of the World.com
Hotels of the World.com
Grand Hotels of the World.com
or the Two Letter VB.com
2011, Cremerie de Paris turns into a brand exhibiton center.
The first Very Beautiful brand was Nike Inc setting up a Barbershop accompanied by a worldwide TV Campaign.
Now one spectecular brand expo follows the other.
The 3 week Pokemon center attracted so many people waiting lines needed to close before noon.
No other Pop Up Spot, no other Museum in the World
has such an ultra short .com address.
VB.com is also one of the first internet domains. It had already been registered in 1991 but the initial registrant did not renew and during a short moment it was possible to get it again.
The editor of this website had grown up in another country,
in a town where VB had a different meaning.
A century ago his great uncle,
an artist and friend of Vincent van Gogh,
had already designed a magical "VB" logo.
As a child the two letters were omnipresent.
But ... destiny of the exceptional VB.com domain was different.
It was to come to Paris,
a city that loves and embraces creativity.
And in America the inventors and developers of the computer keyboard
had added something nether thought about:
The letters V&B are located right next to each other just above
the new .com button present on many smartphones.
How many brand names can you
when you look at your phone or at your computer ?
Cremerie de Paris is not only a place rooted in the past ...,
we have "lived" the recent birth of the web and
with every new expo we are living what is happening today in the world of fashion and technology.
Many unusual Talents have come by,
some are the epitome of innovation, glamour and style ...
VB has many meanings:
V matches the initials of
the stylish Villeroys, secretaries of State, writers and the family that owned our mansion for 3 centuries.
B corresponds to the Bourbons, the Kings of France.
According to legend Henri IV had once built a secret tunnel
as a direct connection between our building and his residence, the Louvre.
This happened 415 years ago ...
VB.com = Very Beautiful
A friend that is a BMW engineer
gave him the idea that VB could mean something completely different ... Very Beautiful.
VB.com might be a "tunnel of the modern times" making a unique connection between the Cremerie and so many facinatings brands and Grand Hotels ...
Interested by brand culture, we will add more and more of their history to our site ... some of these brands have set up a Pop Up expo at our Cremerie au coeur de Paris et au coeur de l'histoire de France
(in the heart of Paris and the heart of the history of France).
Video made by Nefer Couture in the staircase of the Hotel de Villeroy,
home of VB.com (Very Beautiful)
Cremerie de Paris & Phonebook of the World.
For almost 3 centuries it was the home of the ultra stylish Villeroy family,
advisors for all the Bourbon Kings of France.
Around 1646 the children King Louis XIV
and Francois de Villeroy loved to play in the above staircase.
The "n?5" emblem forged into the railings of the historic staircase (escalier d'honneur)
also represents the 5 starts of the
Grand Hotels of the World.
VB.com = one of the unique 696
Two Letter .com domains,
